The SRS-8493-COOLCONDUCT is a 19'' CompactPCI® serial system rack (4 U / 84 HP), suitable for demanding industrial applications such as multiprocessing over several CPU cards or GPU cards. In cooperation with Elma, EKF has developed a special technology called CoolConduct to optimally cool every card slot.
The upper frame of the chassis is equipped with a powerful heat exchange system. Each card slot is cooled by flexibly mounted runners that fit the ridge of a suitable heat spreader on a particular board. Skids and heat distributors are made of solid copper. The runners are coated with a special coating for optimal heat conduction.
In contrast to other solutions, CoolConduct enables the simple exchange of circuit boards without tools for loosening and fastening sleeves with cooling medium. Compared to other technologies, several hundred watts of power can be consumed at significantly lower system costs. The CoolConduct racks are made to order and can be equipped with a wide range of backplane standards and power supplies. A power supply from Elma provides the right power voltages for the platform configuration.
