LAWRENCEVILLE, Georgia, March 2019 – To support and sustain long-term growth, Elma Electronic Inc. finalized the purchase of a new campus of buildings to replace the current Atlanta-area facility. Located just a short distance away, it will serve as the new home for Optima Stantron, Elma’s cabinet enclosure division, along with Elma’s southeast regional offices, with considerable room for growth. The company’s U.S. headquarters in Fremont, CA as well as the Horsham, PA office remain unchanged.
The new location will provide a total area of 150,000 sq. ft. It will allow Elma the space and organizational structure to support the unique needs of both the industrial and defense market segments, with a focused approach on each. The additional space, combined with new capital equipment investments, is expected to increase efficiency, enabling Elma’s further growth in industrial markets.
“This new facility will allow us to streamline our manufacturing and production lines,” said Badri Rajan, vice president of operations. “It will enable us to be even more agile and efficient in meeting our customers’ rigorous requirements.”
Georgia’s Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) and Partnership Gwinnett were instrumental in providing additional resources to, not only remain in Georgia, but enable future expansion.
Shan Morgan, president of Elma Electronic Inc., noted, “It was very important that we find a site close to our existing location to minimize any quality of life impact on our current employees. Located only minutes away means an almost zero-time impact on the commute for all, while offering generous expansion space. We are proud to be part of Gwinnett county’s dramatic growth.”
Move-in is expected to be completed by July 1st, 2019.
